Clear the Fear is a 3-part series of Punk Rock Yoga where we focus on building strength and stability in the body and mind.

  • Let go of any energy that doesn’t serve you so you can move forward in life.
  • Calm the mind through pranayam and meditation.

Raise your energy and stimulate the heart is a 3-part series of Punk Rock Yoga held over 3 weeks.

We focus on boosting our energy and metabolism as we move into the winter months while listening to some rad tunes!

  • Improve the flexibility of the spine.
  • Increase metabolism and improve digestion.
  • Bring clarity and calmness to the mind through pranayam and meditation.

We specifically focus on ways to cope with the stress, excitement and overwhelm caused in the run-up to Christmas (whether you celebrate it or not, you can still feel the manic energy around you).

In these classes I will share tools and techniques with you that help you:

  • To cope with stress on the run-up to Christmas.
  • Release feelings of anxiety, transforming them into feelings of stability, groundedness and compassion.
  • Feel in control of your mind through pranayam and meditation.

FROM 'ME' TO 'WE' SERIES (in-class and online)

A sacred transformation of the heart.

30 October, 6 November & 4 December

From ‘me’ to ‘we’ – A sacred transformation of the heart is a 3-part series set both in-class and online, over 6 weeks. 

It’s transformative series focusing on the 3rd, 4th and 6th chakras. I’ll share tools and techniques of the Kundalini Yoga tradition that will help you:

  • Sooth anxiety and create clarity and calm.
  • Open your heart and your mind so you can move forward with focus and strength.
  • Recognise the qualities of compassion, love and forgiveness in yourself and others.

Kundalini Yoga is a powerful and transformative practice. You’re guaranteed to leave each class feeling rejuvenated.

Dates

The series starts on Tuesday 30 October. There are three in-person classes:
  • Class 1: 30 October
  • Class 2: 4 November 
  • Class 3: 6 December

After class 1, you’ll receive a special meditation practice aimed at soothing your heart and calming your mind. We will practice this meditation together over 40 days. You’ll have my support along the way. 

Every Tuesday between 4 November and 6 December, you’ll join me live  online for our meditation practice. And the opportunity to check-in and ask questions about your personal practice.

When we return to the final class of the series on the 6 December, there will be just 4 days left of your 40 day meditation!

STYLE OF YOGA

Whether your are attending a class or workshop in person or online, below is a description of the styles of yoga I teach and what to expect from a class.

About the class

Each class strongly focuses on synchronizing movement and breath. Classes are influenced by both Hatha and Kundalini Yoga styles and can include sequences, asana (poses), dance, mantra, and pranayama (controlled breathing). They always begin with a warm-up and end with either a meditation and/ or relaxation.

Yoga with a punk rock twist: The playlists are carefully chosen to suit each class and the music ranges from fast skatepunk, hardcore, acoustic punk, post-rock, and solfeggio frequency. You will leave the class feeling like you’ve worked both body and mind.

Classes are often energetic and will be different from what you’ve ever experienced before. Jo welcomes absolute newbies and shares yoga in a way that is suitable for beginners and intermediate. Modifications are available.

About the class

A class based on the traditions of Kundalini Yoga that suitable for all abilities. Movement along to music to free the body and mind through set Kriya’s, mantra, meditation, pranayama, and naad.

Classes are often energetic and will be different from what you’ve ever experienced before. Jo welcomes absolute newbies and shares yoga in a way that is suitable for beginners and intermediate. Modifications are available.

Hatha Yoga class where asanas (poses) are held for a longer time to stretch and strengthen using gravity, and by allowing the muscles to naturally relax rather than resist. A strong focus on deep breath work which allows you to relax into a pose and deepen your practice physically and mentally.

BAD JUJU YOGA

Bad Juju Yoga holds regular classes in Guildford, Reigate, Dorking and Oxford and teaches one-off sessions at various UK and European events and festivals. It is run by Jo Smith, a passionate yoga teacher who teaches in a creative way using a style that is all-inclusive, Sharing yoga through the love of music, mantra, sound and vibration.​
